Who's responsible for your data
Total Trailer Services is a sole-trader business based near King's Lynn, Norfolk. I'm the data controller for any personal information you send me, which means I decide how it's used and I'm responsible for looking after it.
What I collect
Only what you choose to send me:
- Through the contact form: your name, phone number or email address, trailer type, where the trailer is kept (if you give it) and your message.
- Through WhatsApp: your phone number, WhatsApp name, and any messages, photos or videos you send.
- When a job goes ahead: the address where the trailer is kept, and a record of the work done and payment.
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and the fonts are served from this site rather than a third party.
How I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a price
- To arrange a time and come out to the trailer
- To keep a record of the work carried out and any payment, for my own records and tax purposes
I won't send you marketing messages, and I will never sell or share your details for anyone else's marketing.
The legal basis
Under UK GDPR, I use your details because you've asked me to quote for or carry out work (taking steps towards a contract, and performing it). Records of completed work and payments are kept because the law requires it (legal obligation).
Who else handles it
- Netlify hosts this website and receives contact form submissions. Like any web host, it also processes visitors' IP addresses in its server logs. Netlify may process data outside the UK, under safeguards approved for UK data transfers.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries any messages you send that way, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
Otherwise, your details aren't shared with anyone unless the law requires it.
How long it's kept
- Enquiries that don't lead to any work are deleted within 12 months.
- Records of completed work and payments are kept for 6 years, as required for tax purposes.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- tell you what information I hold about you and give you a copy
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information, where I don't need to keep it by law
- stop or limit how I use it
To make any of these requests, email via the contact page, message me on WhatsApp 07718 046664 or use the contact form. I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
